I woke up around 5:30 and the walls were making weird sounds.
like, I swear this actually happened.
it was that creaking sound that walls sometimes make, except instead of just a short creak caused by the wind or something, it was a continuous creaking that just wouldn’t go away. and it lasted like ten minutes.
it was kind of spooky. but then it stopped and I went back to sleep.

I’m kind of conflicted about it. I think I built it up too much by reading so many (non-spoilery) reviews beforehand, 99% of which were very, very positive. and of course the book was hyped like mad.
